ADDITIONAL FOODS FOR GERMANY Memorandum by the Minister of Food.

3 Nov 1945

5. I cannot agree to provide any other foods out of our supplies, for Germany or Austria. When my recent paper on the World Food Position (L.P.(45) 182) was under consideration by the Committee on the 12th October, I pointed out that there would be great difficulty in maintaining rations in the United Kingdom and made it quite clear that I could not agree to make any further contribution from our supplies. The general feeling of the Committee was in support of this view. I see no justification for altering this decision.
