WE were asked by the Chairman of the Reconstruction Committee to examine whether the area of disagreement between Departments disclosed by the memorandum by the Ministry of Town and Country Planning on the removal of temporary defence works (R (44) 183) could be diminished before Ministers were called upon to adjudicate upon it. 2. The Committee has consisted of representatives of the following Departments: Treasury, War Office, Admiralty, Air Ministry, Office of the Minister of Reconstruction, Scottish Office and Ministries of Home Security, Health, Agriculture, War Transport, Works and Town and Country Planning.
