the fact that the recent Wedgwood Committee on the Trial of Matrimonial Causes in the Provinces (which reported in 1943) were opposed to the proposal. With our heavy programme of legislation I doubt whether we should be justified in bringing on such a Measure, which would probably occupy much time. At the same time I wish to record my view that there is nothing impracticable in conferring jurisdiction in divorce on the County Court Judges, and, that to do so might mean a cheapening of divorce facilities.
