4. The case against the Scheme rests upon its effects on amenity and fisheries. It will undoubtedly alter to some extent the character of the very attractive river scenery near Pitlochry, though the extent to which it may injure amenity is a matter of opinion. It may also injure salmon fisheries in the area by destroying some of the existing spawning beds; but the extent, if any, of the injury is a matter upon which experts are divided. Any damage to private interests will be met by the statutory provision for compensation as provided in the Act of 1943.
