(ii) The proposed allocations allow by December 1945 a total force of 395,000 for housing work of one form or another out of a total of 660,000, i.e. 60%. (iii) The provision for new housing and housing sites at December, 1945, is 210,000 as against an actual figure at the end of June of 32,000. This means a build-up at the rate of about 1,000 a day as compared with a present build-up of at the most 2,000 a week. 6. The proposals involve a total excess of allocations over labour supply of approximately 40,000 at September and 51,000 at December, 1945.
