5. Milk. 402,917,000 gallons of milk were sold through Milk Marketing Boards in the three months ended 31st May, compared with 385,933,000 gallons in the corresponding period a year ago. 6. Labour. There has been the usual seasonal increase in work on the land and farmers' demands are only being met with increasing difficulty. There has been no appreciable increase in recruitment for the Women's Land Army, and the net wastage during the three months ended 31st May has amounted to about 2,000 in England and Wales and to 250 in Scotland.
