The Minister of National Insurance aims at payment of family allowances as from the 1st May, 1946, involving the invitation of applications as from the 1st January, 1946. No difficulty is anticipated in handing out application forms at Post Offices, as proposed, as Counter Clerks will not be required to furnish any information or explanation.
