2. (iii) The approximate area of land to be acquired for the purpose of runway strip is 180 acres, consisting in the main of what is described by Ministry of Agriculture as good average pasture, and containing the village Charlton, consisting of 36 houses, 8 farms, a public house, shop and Methodi Hall, together with some 17 acres of common land. The roads which would has be closed include the Filton by-pass and a Class II road giving communicatic### between Henbury and the north, together with a number of other by-roads, and footpaths.
