3. Following the passage of the resolution by the Royal society two informal meetings were called by Sir Edward Appleton to discuss with the Directors of Scientific Research of the Service and Supply Departments the machinery by means of which the co- ordination of publication could be arranged in this country in conjunction with the Dominions and the United States. It was suggested that a British Commonwealth Committee on post- War Publication of results of scientific value obtained during the war should be established.
