Action taken on the RADAR warning would be distinct from that taken when the hooters are sounded. These hooters are now installed at all stations within the 15-minute zone; they will be sounded only if the Board receives an indication from the automatic electric devices of penetration of water in a tunnel. It will be seen that the introduction of a RADAR warning would substantially limit the consequences of a breach to an under-water tube. I recommend, therefore:- 1. That the provision of a short range RADAR warning to the London Passenger Board should be pressed forward with the utmost speed.
