P.(44)202 LORD PRESIDENT'S COMMITTEE th December, 1944 Potato Supplies for the London Area MEMORANDUM BY THE MINISTER OF FOOD A serious situation has developed during the last week or two th regard to London's potato supplies, as a result of shortage of bour on the farms, particularly in East Anglia, for riddling and ading. In a paper (L.P.(44)183) circulated on November 7th the ricultural Ministers informed the Committee of the acute difficulties ich farmers were meeting in the harvesting of potatoes and sugar et, because of labour shortage, accentuated by disastrous weather nditions.
