(THIS DOCUMENT IS THE PROPERTY OF HIS BRITANNIC MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT) SECRET COPY NO. L.P.(44)199. 5th December 1944. WAR CABINET LORD PRESIDENT'S COMMITTEE. NURSES ACT, 1943. Memorandum by the Minister of Health. 1. I seek authority from my colleagues for the preparation and introduction of a one-clause Bill (which, I think, might suitably be introduced into the House of Lords) to correct a small error in the Nurses Act, 1943. Under Part II of that Act, agencies for the supply of nurses are required to be licensed and are made subject to certain restrictions including, for example, the requirement that the selection of the nurse to be supplied in each case must be made by or under the supervision of a registered nurse or registered medical practitioner.
