OVERSEA TRADE IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 1944 Imports of goods other than munitions last quarter, £326 million, were £18 million below the high figure recorded for the second quarter, but about the average for the first half of the year. Imports of munitions (£276 million), though £51 million lower than in the previous quarter, were the second highest of the war. Total exports of United Kingdom goods amounted to only £63 million. The value of "commercial" exports (£52 million) was the lowest on record, while exports of munitions (£11 million) were the lowest since we started sending munitions to Russia in 1941.
