A set of charts showing the contribution of Lend/Lease to U.K. food supplies is appended. IV. LOSSES AT SEA: AIR RAID DAMAGE Six thousand tons of food (oilseeds, vegetable oils and tea) have so far been reported as having been lost at sea during the a weeks ended 2nd September. This brings the total losses in the first eight months of the year to 22 thousand tons, as compared with nearly 350 thousand tons in the corresponding period of last year. In view of this marked change in experience the allowance of 5 per cent hitherto made for losses in forecasting food supplies has been reduced to 1 per cent.
