It has, however, been represented as a defect in the 1 - and the point has been strongly pressed in the House of ds - that assistance should be forthcoming from some quarter towards the very desirable object of securing playing fields for the use of the public generally, and secondly that those local authorities which have already incurred expenditure on acquiring land should be given the assistance upon which they counted to complete the task of laying out the land for recreational purposes. 6.
