4. The provision already made includes - (1) Service allowances and allotments. The minimum weekly payment by the War Office (or other Service Department) to the wife of a private soldier is s.d. (1) Family allowance 18.0. (2) State allotment 3.6. (3) Man's qualifying allotment, 3.6. deducted from his pay (4) Children's allowances 9.6. for the first child, 8s. 6d. for the second and 7s. 6d. each for subsequent children Total minimum amount of the 34.6. regulated allowances for wife and one child As regards (3) the amount of the Qualifying Allotment deducted from the private's pay varies from 3s.
