Imports of goods other than munitions amounted last quarter to £345 million - only £7 million less than the record figure for the third quarter. Imports of munitions (£177 million) fell by nearly £50 million to about the level of the second quarter. Exports of non-munitions (£55 million), after rising in the first three quarters, fell by £81/2 million to little above the figure for the first quarter. Exports of munitions, on the other hand, rose by £14 million to £31 million, one of the highest figures yet recorded.
