Arbitration on questions of pay and conditions of service for local government employees. 1. For some time conciliation arrangements on Whitley lines have been in force in regard to manual workers of local authorities and recently it has been agreed to set up a similar body to deal with employees in the professional, technical, administrative and clerical services of local authorities. 2. Under the Conditions of Employment and National Arbitration Order, 1940, made by the Minister of Labour and National Service under Defence Regulation 58 AA, "trade disputes" may be reported to him.
