The Committee considered a Memorandum by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Home Secretary (L.P.(44) 192). THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES recalled that in his speech in the House of Commons on the 26th January, 1944, he had been authorised by the War Cabinet to say that there were three questions which he was willing to discuss with the National Farmers' Union:(i) The collection of economic data which would be acceptable both to the Government and the Farmers' Unions as a basis for price discussions.
