PAPER Paper for the General Election 1. The Committee considered a memorandum by the Minister of Production and the Minister of Supply (L.P.(44) 186) setting out proposals in regard to the allocation of paper for the general election. The principal features of these proposals were as follows:- (i) that, in advance of any announcement of a general election, paper should be made available to the headquarters of the political parties. The Conservative, Labour and Liberal Parties had asked for 500 tons each.
