THE COMMITTEE had before them:- (i) a Report by the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (L.P.(44)57) on the distribution of doctors in 1944. (ii) A Memorandum by the Secretary of State for War (L.P.(44)55) showing the effect on the Army Medical Services of the proposals in L.P.(44)57. The Report by the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs recalled that at their meeting on 3rd December, 1943, (L.P.(43) 73rd Meeting, Minute 1) the Committee had invited the Service Departments to re-examine their requirements for doctors for 1944 in the light of the decisions reached by the War Cabinet on man-power, and to submit the results to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs.
