POTATOES Agricultural Prices in Northern Ireland. 1. At their meeting on the 9th December, 1943, the Committee had deferred a decision regarding a proposal by the Home Secretary for increases in the price of main crop potatoes grown in Northern Ireland and had asked the Home Secretary to consider a suggestion made by the Chancellor of the Exchequer that it might be possible to reduce or abolish the acreage payment in Northern Ireland, in which case there would be less objection to some improvement in the prices of potatoes bought by the Ministry of Food for export to Great Britain.
