PENSIONS OF RETIRED STATE SERVANTS. (Previous Reference: L.P. (43) 72nd Meeting) 1. The Committee Chancellor of the Exchequers considered a memorandum by the THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER accordance with the decision reached at a previous meeting of the Committee (L.P. (43) 72nd Meeting), he had stated in the House of Commons on the 3rd December that the Government had reached the conclusion that some action should be taken to deal with the pensions of retired State Servants, that the exact nature of the action to be taken was under consideration, but that it would be confined to dealing with the pensioners on the lower levels and would be limited to cases of hardship when all resources were taken into account.
