DOMESTIC CORPS. Memorandum by Minister of Labour and National Service.

Women who immediately prior to volunteering for the Corps had been engaged domestic work from which women are not called up (including private households in which there is hardship) would not normally be accepted for membership if they had left their previous work without good cause. Enquiry would be made by the Ministry of Labour of their previous employer who in any event will be required under the Engagement of Women (Notification of Termination of Employment) Order shortly to be made, to notify all cases of dismissal or voluntary leaving.
