-2- Ministries of Food and Supply, has worked to eliminate cross hauls and unnecessarily long hauls. The method has naturally varied between different commodities; as a rule zoning schemes have been prepared in consultation with the traders. Where necessary, an Order giving effect to the scheme has been made by the Department responsible for the traffic, and a complementary Direction has been issued by my Department to the Railway Companies not to accept traffic otherwise than in accordance with the scheme.
