While I was partly responsible for the working of a very large Canteen and Club for the troops in Stensall Camp, near York, very much interested in the cask of supplying greeting cards of kinds to the men in the Army. I had not realised before how much ordinary man - not very good at the use of his pen - values these as a way of expressing his thoughts and feelings and affections his home and the people there.
