Report on Inter-Departmental discussions on Milk Price Parity for Scotland The Lord President's Committee, at its meeting on 29th September, considered a proposal by the Secretary of State for Scotland for removing the existing disparity between the returns received by Scottish and English milk producers. As a result of the discussion on this proposal, the Minister of Food and the Agricultural Ministers were invited to consider whether, if there were an arrangement for establishing a uniform retail price for milk in Scotland and England, the occasion might be taken to pay more satisfactory prices to Scottish producers without reopening the price settlement of March 1942.
