Rationing, which was introduced at beginning of the war, resulted in an immediate out in consumption of er cent. and further economies have been made from time to time. At present, petol is only issued to private car operators for Essential, Semi-Essential Domestic purposes against a statement of need and in the absence of alt###rnative means of transport. Essential issues are made against requirements for essential purposes for the de###ence of the realm, the prosecution of the war, and the life of the community.
