(42) 199 COPY NO. 16TH WAR CABINET LORD PRESIDENT'S COMMITTEE VACANCY FOR JUDGE IN PROBATE, DIVORCE AND ADMIRALTY DIVISION Memorandum by the Lord Chancellor The death of Mr. Justice Langton reduces the number of Judges in the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division to four (one President and three Puisnes); the resulting vacancy must, in my opinion, be filled as early as possible, and this cannot be done until after an address has been presented to His Majesty, representing that the state of business in the Division requires it.
