In order to encourage the conversion of kitchen and garden waste into human food, producers of pigs for human consumption have been granted certain rations of feeding stuffs and permitted to consume all or most of the pig meat produced. 2. During the past year and a half the proportion of pig meat consumed by the self-supplier to the total output pig meat has increased to an alarming extent.
