FAIR WAGES RESOLUTION. Memo. by Minister of Labour and National Service and Chancellor of the Exchequer.

2 Sep 1942

-4- The Trades Union Congress is most anxious that some announcement should be made on this question at the forthcoming meeting of congress which begins on the 7th September. It is unlikely that a White Paper can be issued before Congress meets and we suggest that the Trades Union Congress General Council should be asked to confine any statement made by them to one that there have been discussions on proposals for the revision of the existing Resolution and that an announcement will be made by the Government in the near future.
