NOTE BY MINISTER OF WAR TRANSPORT. 1. Last year the railways ran 365 special trains for flower traffic and also provided a great number of special vans. Most of these trains and vans were run in the period December to May. The railways will find the utmost difficulty in meeting all demands during the coming winter. 2. The Ministry of Agriculture have reduced the acreage of flowers to be grown next season to 25% of the pre-War acreage, except in the Scilly Isles where the reduction will be to 121/2%.
