- 2 - held strongly that dissatisfaction and potential unre### had been, and were being, caused among women volunteer Fire Guards by the failure of other women to volunteer They are accordingly in favour of the introduction of compulsion subject to two conditions:- (i) that compulsion should not be confined to business (and Government) premises but should apply also to the local authorities' Fire Guard service; (ii) that the amounts authorised to be paid to women Fire Guards for war service injuries should be increased to the full amount authorised in comparable cases for men.
