At a meeting on the 17th April the Lord President's Committee approved ###tain proposals for the reduction in imports of black oils subject to further discussion. between the Board of Trade and the Ministry of Supply with regard to ### consumption of gas oil in gasworks. Discussion between representatives of the Board of Trade, Ministry of Supply ###d the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Fuel and Power has led to the ###llowing conclusions:(i) Reduction of the consumption of gas oil by gasworks would mean less recovery of (a) benzole, (b) tar and (c) toluene.
