1. REPORT OF THE BOARD OF INVESTIGATION UPON THE IMMEDIATE WAGES ISSUE IN THE COAL MINING INDUSTRY To the Right Honourable Ernest Bevin, M.P., Minister of Labour and National Service and the Right Honourable Major Gwilym Lloyd George, M.P., Minister of Fuel and Power. The immediate wages issue upon which we have been asked to report was formulated by the parties before us as follows:- (a) The claim of the Mineworkers' Federation was for a uniform national minimum wage of 85/- for a week's work to come into effect at the age of 18; 4/per shift increase for all over 18 years and 2/per shift increase for boys.
