RESTRICTION ON MEALS IN RESTAURANTS. Memo. by the Minister of Food.

1 May 1942

The drinks for which maximum prices are to be fixed are limited drinks for consumption at the meal table. I see no reason 8. to straight long for attempting to control cocktail prices. 9. An additional charge of not more than 2s. 6d. per person may be made for ballroom dancing or cabaret, but not more than one such charge will though dancing facilities and cabaret are both provided. 10. Where a charge for service is made on the bill, the maximum permissible will be 10 per cent. or 6d., whichever is the greater.
