RESTRICTION OF MEALS EATEN IN PUBLIC. Memo. by the Minister of Food.

9 Apr 1942

-2- The luxury hotel and restaurant keepers undertook that they would give further consideration to the question of fixing a maximum price for food served at their establishments and would submit to me within one month the result of their consideration with a view to the provisions set out in sub—paragraph IV above being modified, should circumstances prove this to be necessary. In accordance with the decision of the Committee I have also consulted representatives of the Service Departments. From these enquiries I am satisfied that the above propositions will be acceptable to those Departments.
