In spite of appeals to the public to avoid all unnecessary travel, annual gatherings, some of considerable size, continue to take place under the aegis of trade unions and political or social organisations. have recently been asked by the Women's Institute whether there objection on transport grounds to the holding of an annual meeting of delegates in London in June when 3,000 persons are expected to attend from all parts of the country.
