RATIONING OF TOBACCO. With reference to Conclusion (4) of the 20th meeting of the Lord President's Committee the question of how tobacco can best be rationed has been considered by officials of the Board of Trade and Ministry of Food together with a representative of the Economic Section of the war Cabinet Secretariat. The conclusions are briefly summarised as follows:- TYPES OF SCHEME. (1) It was agreed that if tobacco had to be rationed it should be as part of a scheme which would ensure reasonable flexibility owing to the great variation in personal consumption.
