BANKING AND ALLIED BUSINESSES. CONCENTRATION OF: Memo. by Chancellor of the Exchequer.

30 Mar 1942

Industrial assurance, conducted partly by companies and partly by collecting societies registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts, involves the employment of large numbers of door-to- door collectors, and therefore presents special problems. Many of the companies and societies concerned have associated with them approved societies for the administration of National Health Insurance. Procedure in connection with National Health Insurance is, I understand, being simplified as far as possible by the Minister of Health.
