APPENDIX. Memorandum on Steps taken to provide Medical Officers for the three Services. The task of advising on the provision of medical officers for the fighting services with due regard for the civil needs of the nation was entrusted last July to the Medical Personnel (Priority) Committee. The problem and the stops taken may be briefly summarised as follows:- 1. Of the 49,000 doctors on the National Register of the Central Medical War Committee, 10,500 have already been recruited to the Services.
