The Committee had before them a Memorandum ###GE IN THE by the Lord Chancellor (L.P.(42) 199) asking the assent ###BATE, AD- of his colleagues to setting down a resolution authorising ###ALTY AND the appointment of a Judge in the place of the late ###ORCE Mr. Justice Langton. ###ION. In support of his paper, THE LORD CHANCELLOR gave particulars of the state of business in the Division, and of the pressure of work on other High Court Judges. He also referred to the numerous occasions on which arrangements had been made for one of His Majesty's Judges to carry out an inquiry on some matter connected with the war.
