The Committee had before them a joint Memorandum by the Agricultural Ministers (L.P.(42) 191) giving an estimate of total food production in the United Kingdom, based on the June returns of acreage and livestock, coupled with the August forecasts of crop yields per acre. THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES said that since this Memorandum had been circulated a later forecast had been made of crop yields per acre, and he gave the following corrections of the estimates of the 1942 harvest as set out in the fourth column in paragraph 4 of the Memorandum:(Thousand tons).
