At their meeting on 7th September asked that the Committee of officials representing the the Committee had Treasury and the three Service Departments should consider what concessions could be made to junior naval officers comparable to the accelerated promotion which was to be granted to junior officers in the other two Services. The Committee had before them a note by the Chancellor of the Exchequer (L.P.(42) 192) covering a further Report by the official Committee on this point.
