SED RT 1. The Committee had under consideration a Memorandum by the Minister of Labour and National Service and the Minister of War Transport (L.P.(42) 186) regarding the functions of the Mechanised Transport Corps. The proposals made in the Memorandum were:- (i) That the activities of the M.T.C. in placing, supervising and controlling women in paid employment should no longer be officially recognised; (ii) That members of the M.T.C. of any age should be subject to the normal conditions of placing, transfer and direction by the Ministry of Labour on the same terms as other women.
