At their meeting on the 31st July, the Committee had decided that a communication should be sent to the Board of Investigation presided over by Lord Greene pointing out that the Government's intention had been that the Board should formulate a scheme for an output bonus on a pit basis; and asking that, before formulating any recommendations on this matter, the Board should consider the representations which the Government desired to bring to their notice.
