MILK PRICES. Memo. by Chancellor of the Exchequer.

27 Dec 1941

5. I understand that the materials for a Ministerial discussion on the question of method referred to above and of the total sums to be distributed among farmers is likely to be available early next week. I cannot believe that to delay a decision on the prices of milk until this material is ready would have any really harmful effect on future milk production. This must especially be so at a time when the prices of cows show no signs of lagging even in face of the decision to increase the minimum agricultural wage.
