I am advised that the increase in labour and other costs, which producers will have incurred this winter, represents more than 11/2d. per gallon applied to the milk sold during the three months in question. This takes into account the possibility of a milk yield higher than was estimated when prices were ori###nally fixed. I therefore propose that an addition of 11/2d. per gallon for these three months should be made now, leaving the industry to substantiate at the end of March any claim for a further increase in respect of the winter period as a whole.
