MAN POWER POSITION IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH SERVICES. Memo. by Minister of Health.

1 Dec 1941

These figures cover both municipal and voluntary hospitals. The estimate of need is made by the hospital authorities on the basis of the numbers who would be employed here and now if they could be obtained: in making this estimate they make some allowance for the fact that they are responsible in case of need for bringing into use a much larger number of beds than are at present occupied. The number of beds at present occupied is about 200,000: an additional 160,000 could be brought into use if necessary.
