COPY NO. L.P. (41) 181 29th October, 1941 WAR CABINET LORD PRESIDENT'S COMMITTEE ROYAL AIR FORCE CONSUMPTION OF PETROL Memorandum by the Secretary of State for Air In my Memorandum to the Lord President's Committee on 15th May, 1941 (L.P. (41) 71) I stated that instructions had been issued that all Royal Air Force Stations were to aim at a reduction of 10% in their consumption of motor spirit, and that I hope in this way, without serious loss of efficiency, to achieve an economy of roughly 700 tons per month.
